Maharashtra Government Reconstituted Task Force To Control Covid 19 Cases In State


Maharashtra News: In view of the increasing cases of Coronavirus, the Maharashtra government has formed a task force. There will be seven members in this task force. It will be headed by Dr. Raman Gangakhedkar, former Chief of ICMR. Let us tell you that 87 new cases of Corona have been reported in Maharashtra on Wednesday while two people have died. The Health Department of Maharashtra has released this data. A day earlier, on Tuesday, 37 new cases of corona virus were reported in the state. So far, 10 cases of JN.1 variant have been reported in the state.

According to the Health Department, 19 new cases of Corona have been confirmed in Mumbai. Whereas one patient each has died in Pune city and Sangli. 81,72,287 corona cases have been confirmed in the state since March 2020. Of these, 1,48,566 people have lost their lives. If we look at the Corona figures in the month of December, 46 new cases were confirmed from 14 to 20 December, while 267 cases were reported between 21 to 27 December.

Dominant variant created in Omicron state
So far, 10 cases of JN.1 variant of Corona have been reported in the state. Of these, five have been registered in Thane, two in Pune city, one in Akola, one in Pune Municipal Corporation and one in Sindhudurg district. The dominant variant of Covid-19 in the state is Omicron XBB.1.16. 1972 people are infected with this variant. So far 19 people have also died due to this variant. in the state till Tuesday evening corona virus 10,864 patients infected with corona have been tested.

Whereas, if we talk about JN.1 variant, till now apart from Maharashtra, it has been confirmed in Karnataka, Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan and Telangana. It is believed that Corona cases are increasing due to increased crowding in markets and other public places on the occasion of festivals.
